Baptism and Open Church

When we were introduced to Satoki for the first time, we weren't sure. Naomi had just come back to church after many years of back sliding. She was full of joy in the Lord, and one Sunday, out of the blue, she introduced us to this young man.

Satoki said he was interested in Christianity, yet we thought he was here to distract Naomi from the Lord. Well, we invited him to Christianity Explored anyway. Throughout the course, he accepted everything he heard and read without questioning it.

As we came to the close of the course, I started to realise that it was the Lord who had sent him and at work in him. By the end of the course, he had accepted that Jesus is the Christ, that he was a sinner in need of grace, and that he needed to carry his cross and follow Jesus. Yet he found the last part a struggle.

 

Few months later, on October the 14^th, we had the privilege to hear Satoki confess before the whole church that he had chosen to surrender all to Christ, and to follow Him, repenting of his sins and relying on Christ’s saving grace.

It was a joy to see Satoki being baptised and to hear his testimony.
We praise the Lord for letting us be a part of His saving work, and look forward to how He will guide us from now on.

 

Please pray for Satoki and Naomi, that they might continue to walk with the Lord, that their fellowship with Him might deepen, that their relationship with one another might be blessed and that they might make a positive change in the church.

 

>Open Church
  

As we mentioned a few months back, we have the “Open Church” coming up shortly.
The whole church is currently busy in preparation for the day.
Here are what we are planning for the day

-music café with various performances
-jumble sale
-Korean cooking and language class
-Kids area
-Gallery

 

Ai and myself will be involved with the stage at the music café.
Ai will be MC-ing for the day, while I will be performing a gospel sleight of hand routine while presenting the gospel. We are also organising a Skit which the youth will be performing.

 

Please pray that the 3000 leaflets that are being distributed will be read, that people will come on the day and they might be saved. Please also pray that each member involved will prepare well and to rely on the Holy Spirit to use us for His glory.
