Kindargarten

About a month ago, I was invited by a local Kindergarten to do a sleight of hand show for the monthly birthday party.
As I was wondering how to get connected with the local community, I took the offer and did the show.

In front of about 60 children, I did a comical show which lasted about 30 minutes.
The children seemed to enjoy themselves, and the head teacher has asked me to come yearly from now on.
Not only that, while at the local head teachers gathering, the head teacher of this Kindergarten recommended me to all the other local Kindergartens.

I am glad I am getting connected to the community, but at the same time, I have been asking myself “how will I use this new connection for the Lord?”
I have not been given liberty to share my faith at the show, but am allowed to teach moral lessons.
So, with wisdom, I believe I can share parts of the gospel to the children. But this too, I feel isn’t enough.

But the Lord has used this connection in a way I hadn’t imagined!
Today, a teacher the and children from the Kindergarten suddenly came to the church to give me a thank you card and some photos.
Here’s the card. it’s a picture of me, with “Thank you Mr. Tim written” on it. but for some strange reason, I cant get it upright... please tilt your head to see it right ;)

WE currently don’t have any pre-school outreach at Hiratsuka Evangelical Church, but we have outreach for primary school children, and give out tracts outside the school 3-4 times a year.
As 20 or so of the children who came today will be going to primary school next year, I hope this connection will help them come to the outreach events we hold.

Please pray for the children who came today. That they might continue to be open to Christianity.
Please also pray for the teacher who came, that she might feel open to coming to future events.
Also, please pray that new openings might emerge with other Kindergartens.

in Him
