Introducing our church 私たちの教会の紹介

Today, we will like to introduce to you, Hiratsuka Evangelical Church,
the church where we are currently serving.
One hour by train from Tokyo, the capital on Japan,
and you will be at Hiratsuka station.
Another 10 minutes walk and you will find Hiratsuka Evangelical Church.

今日は私たちが遣わされている平塚福音キリスト教会の様子をご紹介します。日本の首都である東京から電車で約1時間の平塚駅より徒歩10分のところに、平塚福音キリスト教会は建っています。

The main entrance

玄関を入ると、２階にあがる階段があります。

Through the main entrance, and up the stairs. 

階段横はご案内スペース。色々なチラシが貼ってあります。

The staircase is full of notices.

 

　      　これは婦人会の方たちが震災のあった、
　      　東北を支援するために作っている手作りカード。
　      　売り上げを東北に送るとともに、直接現地に行き、
　　      被災された方々にカード作りを教えています。
　　      今日（６月２０日）も、婦人会の１０名の方々が
           １泊２日で東北に赴いています。

　　 Here are some cards that are made by people in the Tohoku,
     the disaster struck area.
     The profit from the cards are sent to the people there,
     and some of the ladies from our church go to teach
     how to make these cards every now and then.
     There are currently (20th June) 10 ladies from our church there,
     staying for a night and teaching card making.

　　　　　 　このカードは凝った作りとなっていて、大変人気があります。

　　　　　 　教会でも1枚350円で販売されています。

              These cards are very popular and interesting.
              They are sold for 350 yen a peace. (aprx. 2.50 pounds)


 
                   階段を上ると礼拝堂があります。
                   毎週約130名が集まり、ともに主を礼拝しています。                

                  Up the stairs and you will be in the main hall.

 Every week we have around 130 people come together for worship.
 

                            礼拝堂の後ろには母子室があります。

                            At the back of the hall,
                            is the mothers and babies room.

　　　　　            ここから小さな子どもたちや、
                       子どものお母さんたちは礼拝をしています。

                       Babies, Young children and their parents
                       take part in the worship service from here.

                          子ども用の絵本やおもちゃもたくさん用意されています。

                      There are many books and toys for the children.

 

 

                         礼拝堂には聖書・讃美歌が置かれています。

                         At the back of the hall,
                         there are bibles and hymnals for people to use.
 

 
                         こちらは目の不自由な方用の点字の聖書です。
                            
                         Here are bibles and hymnals for the blind.

                              礼拝堂を下っていくと、

                              Back down the stair case...

                      
                       応接間があります。
                       高校生＆青年会はいつもここで持たれています。
                       Here is a room near the entrance,
                       where the high school students and young adults meet.
 

応接間を通り過ぎて奥へ進むと、

Through the corridor,

 

 

                           左側には和室があります。
                           子どもたちのクラスはここで持たれています。

There is another room, which is used for Sunday school.

 

                                右側にはキッチンがあります。

                                And right next to it, is the kitchen

 

　　　　　　　　毎週日曜日には婦人会の方々がカレーライスなど、
　　　　　　　　美味しい昼食を作ってくださいます。
　　　　　　　　礼拝後は、ご飯を食べながら交わりを持っています。

                  Every Sunday, the ladies make lunch,
                  like curry and various other things.
                  After the Sunday worship,
                  we have fellowship while having lunch.
